Removal of laser scale, weld scale, mill scale, and corrosion can be an expensive and time consuming operation, but it also critical for a high quality and corrosion resistant finished painted part.

Media blasting and manual grinding are options, but are expensive as they require significant part handling and labor. Chemical removal of these unwanted oxides is the easiest and most cost effective way to get the clean surface you desire.

Traditional pickles are notorious for creating sludge and scale and causing flash rust in spray systems. Strong mineral acids can fume and corrode surrounding equipment in open immersion systems.

Calvary Industries has optimized pickling and deoxidizer products to eliminate the sludge, scale, flash rust, fuming, and corrosion. These products are very effective, safer to use than traditional products, and in some cases even non-corrosive to operators. There is a deoxidizer for every substrate and application, with many products able to deoxidize more than one substrate through the same line at the same time.

Don’t have room for a pickle in your process? Not enough stages? Products are available to both clean the part of oils and soils, as well as remove the unwanted oxidation.

Followed by adequate rinsing, these parts can proceed directly into a finishing stage, whether it be zirconium treatment, iron or zinc phosphate, or chromate.
